Know Thyself

I think other than horoscope, personality test is almost everyone’s guilty pleasure. Who doesn’t want to know about oneself? I have fun doing some of these tests, and apparently not every one of them is famous enough? So, here comes a post so that I can just link a page and let everyone has fun for the next few hours.

Perseid, with Nice Maps

I don’t know why, seems like my writings lately are mostly about maps? I wonder… Anyway, tonight and yesterday night were the peak of Perseid Meteor Shower this year (mostly yesterday, but today should be quite fine). As I live far from civilisation the city this year, the result of the quick sighting I’d done last night was quite nice. Though I didn’t venture far from the flat, I could see a lot of shooting stars (basically the shower part) coming from the east (where Perseid was located these time of the year before the dawn), and I believe there’s a fireball too!

General (Mostly Money-Related) Tips and Tricks in Living in London/ United Kingdom

When we applied for Tier 4 UK VISA, it’s written that the expected monthly budget for London is about 1200 GBP. That’s also how much I get from my scholarship. So, how’s the reality? Is that amount enough? Especially if you’re planning to bring your family as well. Believe it or not, if you’re planning your budget well, you can actually use that amount for a small family, with decent meal and everything. I myself have usually saved about half of my allowance each month (and use the saving for emergency conference travel fund, normal travel fund, and do leisure activities in between). Everyone have their own way to manage their own budget. Your life is your life, you’re the one who know it best. Learning from how other people manage theirs, make it suitable with yours. For a note, this is a compilation of things I’ve done and things people suggested to do to keep your budget low and living fuller (hopefully) in the UK.

Nostalgia Filter: Senam Kesegaran Jasmani

Or… Physical Freshness(?) Exercise (pardon my brain short-circuit). Randomly I found this Ayo Bersatu exercise video. As I am what I am, I am getting nostalgic about the SKJ I practiced back then and remembering some of the moves. (and basically writing this nostalgia posts doesn’t need a lot of background research, ehe. Looking at this other article full of research I put aside). There are a few people feeling nostalgic with them all over the internet too.
